Data destruction software, sometimes called data sanitization software, disk wipe software, or hard drive eraser software, is a software-based method of completely erasing the data from a hard drive.

When you delete files and then empty the Recycle Bin, you don't actually erase the information, you just delete the reference to it so that the operating system can't find it. All the data is still there and, unless it's overwritten, can be easily recovered using file recovery software.

Data destruction software, however, truly does erase the data. Each data destruction program utilizes one or more data sanitization methods that can permanently overwrite the information on the drive.

If you need to remove all traces of a virus or you're planning on recycling or disposing of your hard drive or computer, wiping your hard drive using data destruction software is the best way to protect yourself.

Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN)



Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN) is a self-contained boot image that securely wipes  the hard disks of most computers. DBAN is appropriate for bulk data destruction.
DBAN will automatically delete the contents of any detected hard disk, which is why it is an appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction. In order to install DBAN, you need to burn the file to a blank disc and boot the computer with it.
DBAN is a good way to ensure your data is erased from any hard drive when you are recycling your PC. If you are thinking of selling your PC, then DBAN is another way of preventing identity theft, and a good way to totally clean a Microsoft Windows installation of viruses, malware, and spyware.
DBAN can prevent or hinder all known techniques of hard disk forensic analysis. Basically, this means it writes over the existing data, making it virtually impossible to recover the previous data.
DBAN has been designed for the home user, and although it is good at what it does, the interface is a little clunky to get to grips with. Unless you are used to using similar applications and are familiar with file systems, DBAN may not be the choice for you.

CBL Data Shredder




Data Shredder (also known as CBL Data Shredder) is a data destruction utility designed to securely erase a hard disk or digital storage device, completely removing the data and making it unrecoverable. The software utilizes the Gutmann method[1] of destroying data rather than other means of data destruction (such as: ATA secure erase, crypto-shredding, degaussing, physical destruction). While Data Shredder is a mature release (2007), due to its effectiveness and ease of use the software utility was still listed as a Top Key Player in the Data Destruction market by Business .

MHDD



MHDD is the most popular freeware program for low-level HDD diagnostics.
MHDD supports these interfaces: IDE, Serial ATA, SCSI. Also there is a possibility to access an USB storage, there are drivers for emulation (USB->SCSI).
This software can make precise diagnostic of the mechanical part of a drive, view SMART attributes, perform Low-level format, bad sector repair, different tests and tens of other functions.
MHDD is the small and powerful freeware tool to work with hard drives at the lowest possible level. First version was released in 2000 by me, Dmitry Postrigan. It was able to make surface scan of an IDE drive in CHS mode. My main objective was to develop well-known and trusted HDD diagnostic tool.
Now MHDD is much more than just diagnostic. You can do anything with MHDD: diagnose your drive, access raw sectors, manage S.M.A.R.T. (SMART) and other drive parameters such as acoustic management, security, Host Protected Area. You can even send your own commands to a drive using very simple linear scripting engine.

A PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is a system that allows an organization to manage incoming and outgoing phone calls and also allows communication internally within the organization. A PBX is made up of both hardware and software and connects to communication devices like telephone adapters, hubs, switches, routers and of course, telephone sets. 

The most recent PBXs have a wealth of very interesting features that make communication easy and more powerful within for organizations, and contributes in making them more efficient and in boosting productivity. Their sizes and complexity vary, ranging from very expensive and complex corporate communication systems to basic plans that are hosted on the cloud for a two-digit monthly fee. You can also have simple PBX systems at home with basic features as an upgrade to your existing traditional phone line.

What Does a PBX Do? 

The functions of a PBX can be very complex, but basically, when you talk about PBX, you talk about stuff that does these things: 

Use of more than one telephone line in an organization, and management of outgoing and incoming calls. 
  • Splitting of one single phone line into several internal lines, which are identified through three or four-digit numbers called extensions, and switching calls to the appropriate internal line. This saves the organization from having to pay for several lines, and allows all departments to be reached through one single phone number.
  • Allow free phone communication within the organization. 
  • Empower the whole communication with VoIP (Voice over IP), which has a tremendous amount of features and enhancements over traditional telephony, the most prominent being the cutting down of call costs. 
  • Ensure good interface with customers through features like call recording, voicemail, IVR etc. 
  • Automation of response to calling customers with IVR (interactive voice response) whereby the system can automatically direct users to the most appropriate line through voice menus. It is the kind of feature where, as a caller, you hear things like "Press 1 for the Finance Depart, Press 2 for complaints..."

ISP Provided Hotspots


If you already have an Internet service provider, chances are it offers access to company-owned or affiliated Wi-Fi hotspots around town and around the country.

This type of Wi-Fi hotspot can be found not only at business and public locations, but, in some cases, entire communities or neighborhoods may be part of the hotspot.

Access is via a standard Wi-Fi connection; no special hardware or software is usually required. While connection speeds can vary, they're almost always as good as the average service plan speed offered by an ISP. That means connection speeds of 10 Mbps to 100 Mbps (and even higher on occasion) are possible. Even better, most of these ISP Wi-Fi hotspots don't impose data caps or count the amount of data used against your account's data cap, should you have one.

But a library's Internet services may not stop with each visit to the library. Some, like the New York Public Library, will lend you a mobile hotspot to use at home to connect to the city's free Wi-Fi network.

WhatsApp biggest change for Indian users. Check it out.!!

Facebook and messaging app company WhatsApp has made major changes to its 200 million users in India. Due to rumors spreading over WhatsApp, the company has taken this stern step to stop lobbying in the country. Now no message can be forwarded more than five times on WhatsApp. Find out the important things related to this major change here.


To control the message forward, the option of Quick Forward on WhatsApp will be removed. So that no message could be forwarded quickly.

In India, the user will be able to forward a WhatsApp message only five times. These fixed numbers will be for Indian users only.

Application will be facilitated for forwarding a message to its Global Users in a message group 20. This feature will first be brought to beta testing of Android. After this it will be roll out for all users of the app.

Recently, the Government of India issued a second notice to WhatsApp In this notice, WhatsApp was asked to take effective measures to prevent the Fake Message from being viral. The country's IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had said that WhatsApp is an important medium in the rumors, will have to take concrete steps to stop it or else there will be legal action against him.

Earlier, WhatsApp had launched the Forwarded Labels feature to prevent rumors spreading on WhatsApp. When forwarding any message to it, the forwarded label is displayed above it.

Let me tell you that the rumors of theft of child on the WhatsApp in the country have taken many lives. The messages spread on WhatsApp are largely responsible for mobs lynching.

Why Programmers should prefer command-line-mode than Graphical-mode...??

1. Better Control
                                
Command line interface gives you better control than the GUI. Whether you are writing a code or just trying to instruct the computer to execute an action, you can be sure of the command lines. They are capable of performing any action.You can use CLI to perform simple tasks such as opening files or even more complex actions such as manipulating the server and database. CLI gives you ultimate power over the computer and any other application that you intend to use for programming.

2. Speed 

We all appreciate the essence of speed in programming. It helps a programmer to do more within a limited time. Another key reason why serious programmers opt to use CLI is speed.
There is no doubt that navigating through different icons on your computer can be slow and tedious. Some icons may be small and you may spend a couple of seconds before you locate them. With CLI, you simply need to type a few commands you want and you will get the results instantly.

3. System Resources

The performance of a computer depends on the number of resources that are used at any given time. When we draw a comparison, CLI uses fewer resources than the GUI. This is possible because the GUI comprises of many elements including the fonts, icons, colors images and even videos.
All the GUI components of GUI are dependent on the computer’s memory and processor. This explains why sometimes some applications take too long to load. The minimal resources required by CLI is the main contributing factor to the high speeds and efficiency.
4. CLI is Diverse as Compared to GUI
Most programmers don’t specialize in one programming language. They deal with different languages during their career. The reason why they prefer CLI is because it gives room for diversity. A single command line can be used to execute the same action in different programming languages and also in different platforms. The same command line can also be used on different operating systems.
On the other hand, each application program comes with its own GUI. This means that some things that worked on a certain application may fail on another. A programmer must start learning the how to use the new application from the scratch. To avoid all these hassles, most programmers prefer to use CLI.
5. CLI is Required for Backend Programming
Most programmers are usually tasked to deal with backend programming. This usually happens when developing websites, apps and basic software. It is quite difficult to avoid CLI when programming the backend of an application. Although tools such as MAMP have made possible to use some GUI, you will still need to incorporate CLI in your programming.
6. Security
A discussion on programming cannot be complete without us looking at the security aspect. CLI has won the hearts of many programmers because it is more secure than GUI. With GUI, you can inspect each line of code and eliminate or edit the ones that that pose a threat to the security. Even in the case of an attack such as a virus, you can easily spot the loophole that hackers used to get into the system.
Inspecting the security aspect of a code may be hectic when using GUI. Even in the case of an attack, recovering from it will take some time since the command lines are the only ones that can be used to rectify the problem.

Xiaomi Pocopone F1 Review

Xiaomi's announcements have been relatively predictable so far, but the introduction of a new Poco sub-brand was a surprising move. It sounds like a marketing experiment - deliver flagship specs at cutthroat prices. Sound familiar? Well, it does remind of how OnePlus came to be, but we're not sure the new Pocophone F1 is headed in the same direction. Poco is still just a brand, and not a separate company and they stand on the shoulders of Xiaomi's logistics and after sales support network.


The feeling of deja-vu aside, OnePlus has proven to mostly stand up to its promises through the years and we're yet to see how Poco will fare.

Xiaomi really likes the meaning of small embedded within its names - Xiaomi or Mi written in Chinese means millet - little rice, while Pocophone in Spanish means little phone. Because they start small and dream big. And it does ring nicely with the Poco launch.

Anyway, the Pocophone F1 is not just big promises and polished PR. Just on the contrary - looking at its specs sheet it may have enough power to redefine the whole concept of mid-range and flagship segments. But only if this strategy keeps it going forward at least another generation or two.

The Pocophone F1 comes with a bezel-less screen and a notch. The notch here accommodates an infrared camera and an IR illuminator for face unlock, and there is also a 20MP selfie snapper. In charge of processing is Qualcomm's most powerful chipset - the Snapdragon 845 - enhanced with liquid cooling. There is also a dual-camera on the back with large pixels and a bright lens, while the massive 4,000mAh battery should help power the whole thing for quite some time.

Operating independently will also allow Pocophone to release faster updates. The F1 has been promised the Poco-customized version of MIUI 10 in just a month after its release. They also promise an update to Android Pie in three months, and updates will keep coming regularly after that, too.

Finally, this independence will also help the management to focus on selling the Pocophones in other markets outside of Xiaomi's traditional places of operation. Of course, the focus on the Indian market will remain high.
