Facebook and messaging app company WhatsApp has made major changes to its 200 million users in India. Due to rumors spreading over WhatsApp, the company has taken this stern step to stop lobbying in the country. To control the message forward, the option of Quick Forward on WhatsApp will be removed. So that no message could be forwarded quickly.
In India, the user will be able to forward a WhatsApp message only five times. These fixed numbers will be for Indian users only.
Application will be facilitated for forwarding a message to its Global Users in a message group 20. This feature will first be brought to beta testing of Android. After this it will be roll out for all users of the app.
Recently, the Government of India issued a second notice to WhatsApp In this notice, WhatsApp was asked to take effective measures to prevent the Fake Message from being viral. The country's IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had said that WhatsApp is an important medium in the rumors, will have to take concrete steps to stop it or else there will be legal action against him.
Earlier, WhatsApp had launched the Forwarded Labels feature to prevent rumors spreading on WhatsApp. When forwarding any message to it, the forwarded label is displayed above it.
